It's amazing how quickly information travels. On Saturday morning there were rumours floating around the Browncoat and Slither boards that Nathan had attended the first screening of SLiTHER in Vancouver. I would like to CONFIRM that this is indeed true.
We took over the theater shortly after 6:30. As we came in, we noticed a row of seats that had been reserved. We didn't want to get our hopes up but secretly, we all hoped that he would show up. The movie started to roll at 7:20 and was abruptly stopped and the lights were turned back up. A few more minutes passed and the lights went down again. This time, we hears a lot of rustling and people coming in. I briefly turned around but didn't recognize anyone that was sitting down.
After the show (you can read my thoughts on it here) and after the credits had rolled, I head someone mention that Nathan had been there, watching with us and his friends and that he had quickly exited after the film. We thought the star spotting was over then but I did manage to see him while I stood outside. I was very much in control of myself. I didn't approach him and I didn't stare but I did occasionally look over. He was very friendly to the few individuals who approached him but it was apparent that he just wanted to be left alone and most of us let him be.
It WAS awesome to see the show with Nathan in the audience. Sure, many people had premieres with red carpets and special guests but how many had THE star in the audience? I'm sure he was amused by the girls comments, the clapping and cheering with his appearance on screen and at the end with the rolling of the credits.
The afterparty was also a great success. A few individuals who didn't come to the movie still managed to come out for the party and at the end of the night (after 1AM). The entire evening was a great success! I can't wait to do it again!
