To Live and Die by GCal

I never thought it would happen but here we go. I, Marina, have a problem. I live by my calendar.

It's true.

When I was in highschool, I went through these phases of what I'd do when I grew up. In one such fantasy (something I now realize was more of a narrowly avoided nightmare or sorts) I'd be a busy body running from meeting to meeting, checking my calendar and carrying a briefcase. For a time when I got my first job working in an office, I even played out that dream a little by buying an expensive Kenneth Cole lap top bag which I filled with all sorts of useless bits. When I started figuring out what I needed to carry with me the bag started to get heavy and I switched to a back pack. The problem here is that I started filling that to the point of ridiculousness. I'm digressing already - we're talking about calendars.

For many a year I tracked appointments on sticky notes stuck to the inside of my wallet but when a year into my love affair with my N95, I figured out how to sync my GCal with the on board calendar, my life changed. I started scheduling everything. And now, my calendar looks like this:

I'm sure you've noticed the calendar in the sidebar (or maybe you haven't, I don't know for sure) but it's only when I flip over to schedule something new that I notice all the black. Those are all appointments and mind you, it's not like I'm running to a due-or-die million dollar meetings but they appointments I need to keep.

Never thought "I'll need to check my schedule" would be a part of my vocabulary without being facetious but here am I, scheduling appointments three weeks in advance. Can you imagine what my wallet would look like if I was still using the sticky note method? Yeah, I'd rather not think about it either.

Just remember to block out some Marina time!

I never noticed your calender widget before because I'm using a feed reader, and I'm not sure I would have noticed it anyway, it's pretty far down the page. Curious, I checked. Now I wish I hadn't. Totally jealous you're going to an advanced screening of Kick-Ass!

Bha! LOL. Marina time is right though. I had some of that yesterday - did NOTHING. Will be blogging about that later. :)

Yeah, Kick-Ass was a fluke. Hubby's actually coming downtown to see it with me!
