A Stinky Problem

I was standing in the overpowering smell of some woman's perfume coming up the elevator this morning and I had a thought about the woman who was kicked off the bus because of her overpowering perfume (and it didn't just happen once either!).

Generally, a story like this doesn't even make it on my radar but standing in a waifing cloud of stink this morning, I started to wonder that maybe there was a problem here - lack of knowledge. She's arguing that her civil rights were violated but after some thought I've come to the conclusion that she's taking this too far just because she's embarrassed. From my experience working in offices, and lets be honest here; we're all experts because I'm sure everyone has had this happen at some point, most people wear far too much perfume/cologne. Men are just as bad as women are when it comes to this fault - they spray it on so thick that it enters the room before they do and also lingers after they leave. I'm sorry, you might smell good but I don't want to be smelling your scent for the next few hours because you were over zealous in your spraying this morning. Use some common sense and keep it light and simple. You don't want to get kicked off the bus do you?

And if you have trouble figuring it out for yourself, The Fragrance Foundation has some tips on how to apply perfume properly. Let me backtrack and say that perhaps this is a common mistake because it's not something our parents ever taught us. My mom never showed me the right way to apply perfume but at the same time, I know what bothers me about other peoples' application and I looked for ways to avoid the same mistakes. I'd say that's common sense no?

I've given way too much thought and time to this perfume business this morning but before I move on, that picture there is of my perfume of choice, Magnetism from Escada.

Looks like the rest of the day should be fairly mindless. I'm leaving a little early today to go the awards ceremony. Look like my brain can relax until class tonight.

Happy hump day folks!

Yay! Congrats again on the award!

I hardly ever wear perfume because it always ends up irritating me. I just use scented lotion instead :)
