I'm not 100% sure why we're at work today considering that most businesses are closed for the holiday Monday. To boot, transit (and almost everything else) is working holiday hours but not us. No, not us. We're here filling up space and time when I could be at home working on my essay for Wednesday that I'm having a really hard time wrapping my head around. Not sure why but it's been really difficult settling down into this Literature course.
The weekend was pretty good and we managed to get a nice rest of day in yesterday. D and I left the car at home on Friday and headed off to Granville Island for the day. Took the little ferry across from Science World, did some fresh grocery shopping, spent some time downtown and generally had a nice time. We did stumble on some transit problem that had Skytrain running very, very intermittently so we ended up having to maneuver home on the bus system. Took a bit longer than usual but it was a fun little adventure.
Perhaps the best part of the weekend was watching Grindhouse. Wow. That movie was a great throwback to my highschool movie viewing days when we would make trips to places that played stuff like this. It was a lot of fun.
I hope everyone enjoyed/is still enjoying their holidays!
Here's a little something fun. Alanis Morissette has done a cover to The Blackeyed Peas song "My Humps". I just saw this the other day and thought it was hysterical! And if you can figure out how this ties into Grindhouse, bonus points for you!
