I hadn't realized, until late last week, that the Beijing Olympics was scheduled to start in what is considered one of the luckiest of numbers: 8. The triple (and in the case of local time in China - quadruple) 8 is bound to play an important part in why China chose to bid on this Olympics but truth be told, everything I've seen come out of China, mostly through constant updates by two local boys, citizen journalists to the bone, kk+ and scales, things are not only good before the games - they're great.

It's a day of celebration, I plan to do a little of it myself, and I hope everyone gets out and takes in the good vibes of the day.
