We're at the brink of an energy crisis. Gas prices around town are currently sitting a $1.47. That's whole lot of money to fill up your tank.

If that's not enough, Terasen wants to hike the price of your natural gas. And then there's that nasty global warming/climate crisis on everyone's mind. So how does the BC Government react? They add a new tax and then give everyone $100 to make up for it.

I know, it's a bum deal. $100 won't go very far even in that environmentally friendly Prius but it's all we get and I say be happy you're even getting that. At the last Bookcrossing Meeetup, fellow booklover and blogger Monnibo mentioned that The Tyee was encouraging folks to put their $100 to good use. It makes good sense too. On it's own it isn't much but if everyone were to pool their $100, we'd have a nice pot of money to put towards an initiative that may actually make a change.

As a fan of fast cars, I can't help but get excited about this.

Last year hubby brought my attention to the Tesla Motors and their electric sports car. I was excited about it before but watching this video....I can't believe it. Listen to it, there's no background sound and you only hear the engine when it's accelerating.

The video is of Elon Musk, Chairman of Tesla Motors, test driving the very first model. It's really sweet and the fact that the Corvette is having a hard time keeping up is a little mind blowing. Not only is the video darned cool but there's a load of extra wicked information about the car discussed in the process. Very cool.

Yesterday, D sent me a link to Tesla Motors, the company behind one of the newest innovations in Electric Vehicles.

Though the hybrids are just now gaining ground, this is a step beyond, providing a stylish, fully electric car at a somewhat more reasonable price. With a price tag of $100,000 it's still not cheap by any stretch of the imagination but then, it's an option for anyone out there looking to spend that kind of dough on an Italian sportscar. Seriously, this thing isn't only sleek, it's damned fast going 0-60 in 4 seconds and peaking at 248mph.

SWEET. Whoever said efficiency would never look or perform well missed the boat completely.

So, if you have a couple of grand sitting around, you may want to order one of these puppies.
