I'm not a huge fan of "The Simpsons" but I've watched more than my share of episodes over the years. Two things related to the show are currently tickling my fancy.
The first is this clip from the new Nike commercial (made for the upcoming World Cup and called "Write the Future" - if you haven't seen it yet, I highly recommend you check it out) which makes me smile every time I see it which, right now, is quite a bit since I've set it up as the video that comes on when I turn on my phone. Always good to start the day with a smile:
The other is something I found just today, a website dedicated to the messages Bart writes on the board during the opening credits of the show. It's called Bart's Blackboard and they have screen shots of that scene going all the way back to Season 1. It's fun to click through though this one, from a recent episode, pretty much reiterates my feelings on the "Lost" finale.
Ok. That may not be true but according to this chart, we're definitely the least wacky of the bunch. What surprises me most is that "Lost" is crammed in here. Wonder how hipsters feel to be in a category along with the rest of us sci-fi geeks?
Via Sci-fi Wire, I share with you the geek matrix. And it's pretty bloody accurate.
I fit into more than one of these categories. Should I be scared or proud of my geekdom? I'm definitely proud.
I'm hoping this isn't proof that I'm losing my edge. I'm blaming it on the fact that my main interest in seeing "Remember Me" is RPattz. That's a little sad, I know, but it's the truth and around here, I'm nothing if not truthful (plus let's face it, it's not like anyone who knows me would believe any other excuses I might make). Alas, I'm already off topic.
So I was watching that video of Rob on Jimmy Fallon on YouTube (late night TV talkshows aren't my thing) and Jimmy asked Rob if he'd ever seen an episode of "Lost." For a moment I thought "Who the hell cares if Rob's watched lost or not? I don't need to know that I share an obsession with a crazy ass TV show that seems to be going nowhere faster than I can possibly take a shot."
Then it dawned on me.
So that's why the girl in the "Remember Me" trailer looked so familiar! I was so busy daydreaming about RPattz that I completely over looked the fact that Ally, the love interest, is none other than Claire.
Ally in "Remember Me"
Claire in "Lost"
Honestly, missing this connection baffles me. I really should pay more attention but when it comes to this, how can I possibly concentrate on anything else?
