I haven't had a chance to check out the extended scenes yet (been too busy to track them down on You Tube and quite frankly, I'd rather see them from the comfort of my couch with crisp, clear images) but I will get to it on Saturday, just in time to record one of our upcoming Before the Dawn podcasts.

Be thankful that I didn't subject you to squeals of excitement at the release of 10 seconds of the "Eclipse" trailer (not to mention the trailer itself [you can read my thoughts on that here]). It was difficult as hell too considering that 1) we haven't seen much by way of publicity on "Eclipse" and 2) I love me both this book and director David Slade.
The "New Moon" DVD hits store shelves next week and it includes a preview of "Eclipse" but of course, that clip is already online (don't fret, I've tucked it at the end of this entry). I just saw it and I'm impressed. The trailer was a nice tease as to what we could expect but this behind the scenes video is even better. I'm happy to see some of the things I disliked in "New Moon" have been fixed (namely the make-up and Alice's hair!!!). It's still not a whole hell of a lot but what there is looks great!

By this point, you already know that "Twilight" is coming to DVD on March 21st but along with the release of the Two Disc Special Edition there are also a number of Collector's Editions available through a number of retailers. As of this morning, I'm aware of two different editions.
Borders Exclusive Edition
The Borders Exclusive Edition includes the 2 Disc SE along with a bonus DVD which includes:
• Exclusive Twilight Cast Interviews with Kristen Stewart (Bella) and Robert Pattinson (Edward)
• Exclusive Twilight Cast Interviews with Cam Gigandet (James)
• Exclusive Twilight Cast Interviews with Edi Gathegi (Laurent) and Rachelle Lefevre (Victoria)
• Exclusive Red-Carpet Interviews from the Twilight Movie Premiere
• Exclusive Never-Before-Seen Red-Carpet Footage! Includes extra interview footage with Kellan Lutz (Emmett), Ashley Greene (Alice), rock band Paramore, and Nikki Reed (Rosalie)
• Exclusive Borders Book Club: Stephenie Meyer talks about the Twilight Saga
Exclusive Photocards
10 exclusive photocards are printed on a gorgeous pearlescent paper to give a dramatic sparkly effect—the perfect way to view your favorite vampires
That edition is available only through Borders at a cost of $29.99 which is only $5 dollars more than the list price for the Standard 2 Disc release.
You can PLACE YOUR ORDER HERE.
Amazon Ultimate Collector's Set
The Amazon Exclusive Ultimate Collector's Set only seems to be available in Blu-ray but it includes the 2 Disc SE in Blu-ray along with:
• Collector's Box
• Original Motion Picture Soundtrack
• Six Collector Cards
• Twilight Bookmark
• Exclusive Watch
• Limited Edition Charm Bracelet
• Certificate of Authenticity
That edition is available only through Amazon at a cost of $69.99 which is a little pricier.
You can PLACE YOUR ORDER HERE.
Since I don't have a Blu-ray player and I don't care much for jewelry, I skipped out on the Amazon offer for the Border's offer instead. Plus, $70US is a little hefty for my wallet.
Hot Topic Release
Hot Topic is releasing the 2 Disc special edition at the same cost of most retailers ($24.99) but as an added bonus, you get:
• Exclusive Edward movie cell
You can PLACE YOUR ORDER HERE.
Barnes & Noble Release
Barnes & Noble is releasing the 2 Disc special edition for $26.39 but as an added bonus, you get:
• Customizable Twilight Skin for your cell phone, PDA or MP3 player (individual code redeemable at Skinit.com)
You can PLACE YOUR ORDER HERE.
If you find any other Collector's Editions, please let me know. I'll provide updates as more become available.
NOTE: Apparently the Special Edition Blu-Ray disc will only be availabe on March 21st via Best Buy and Target (though neither site has the DVD listed for pre-sale) and then to all other retailers on May 5th. This seems like a bit of a moronic move but I'm sure they've got their reasons. Also note that they've added a new feature (to the Blu-Ray edition at least): "BD Live with "New Moon" teaser" - whatever that means.

Still no release date or specs on the DVD but Summit has released the cover art for the 2 disc special edition release of "Twilight".

Turns out that this is turning into a bit of a "Twilight" blog and apparently, I have all the answers. Well, I don't have all the answers - I'm just a fan yet, I've had a few people contact me about the DVD release of the film. I posted a few details earlier but in case you missed it...
I have no idea when the film will be released. In an interview, Catherine mentioned Spring of 2009 and there's been talk of a release between February and April though if I had to guess, I'm thinking later in the year considering the film is still doing so well in theatres.
As for the DVD itself, Hardwicke has talked about a number of deleted scenes which will appear on the DVD release including a scene from "Midnight Sun". You can check out all the details of that from an interview at MTV. Unfortunately, that interview isn't available to folks outside the US and I can't seem to find it on YouTube but if you know where it's at, please leave a link in the comments section. I found this but it appears to be only a portion of the interview.
If you're really keen, you can already Pre-Order the DVD from Amazon.ca.

Let me begin by saying that I'm thrilled they're not planning on holding this until the release of "New Moon".
Catherine Hardwicke talked to the folks at MTV and revealed a few tidbits about the DVD release including:
- "Giggle" (her word not mine) audio comentary with Stewart, Pattinson and Hardwicke
- Lots of deleted and extended scenes and
- Behind the scenes footage and interviews
There's a whole lot more which Hardwicke brings up in her discussion which you can check out over here.
Fans will run out and pick this up but mark my words: Summit will release a SE set in conjunction with Christmas 09 and "New Moon".

I love Zip, I do. I've been a member of Canada's Netflix for 2 years now (I can hardly believe that but that's what my account details say). One of the first movies I added to the list was the much talked about Bollywood gem Don which stars the only Bollywood actor I can immediately recognize: Shahrukh Khan.
As I added more titles to my list, mostly obscure oldies, that golden gem kept getting further down the list and considering I have it set up on random, it looked like it would be years before I got to see it. Finally, I made a few changes to my account and put the bloody film on the number one spot where it's been sitting for over a month. Until today:
YES!!!
You'll also note that I currently have 500+ titles in my list. At this rate, it'll be a lifetime before I can get through them all. The goal for the end of the year is to knock 100 off and bring that number down to 400. I'll keep you posted on the progress.
In the meantime, if you're wondering why I'm so excited about seeing this, just check out this fantabulous trailer:
Sometimes, things just work out.
Dale, Colleen and I went into Blockbuster tonight to check if they carried Black Sheep and, of course, I ended up in front of the previously viewed DVD shelf. I wasn't going to buy anything but then I spotted The Lives of Others for $9.99. Then I spotted Black Snake Moan for $9.99. Since I already had two, I figured I'd jump into the 3 for $24.99 deal so I also picked up The Painted Vail. On the way to pay, Dale spotted the cheap movie bin and digging around in there I found Denys Arcand's Stardom for $4.99. Never seen it but he's a great director - why not?
I thought I was finished, I did, and then I saw Hard Candy at a steal of a deal for $6.99. In the end, I walked away with 5 movies for $40. Not bad for $8 a piece.
I'll have to make another trip. I spotted Little Children, Perfume and a third title I can't remember on the shelf for the $24.99 deal.
Damned you Dale! It's all your fault! ;)
I've been trying to be a little more 'responsible' about my spending so over the last few months, I've really been cutting back on impulse buying. Sometimes, this doesn't work to your advantage. Let me share with you this little example. Last month D and I were at Costco when I spotted a pair of super sweet wireless headphones at the smokin' price of $89. I decided not to buy them that day and, instead, I made a pact with myself. If at the end of April I still wanted them, I'd come and buy them. So I waited.
In the meantime, I spotted the same exact headphones over at Future Shop for $150 bucks. I started to get really excited about getting them and for 4 weeks I put a little money aside for these things.
Yesterday we go to Costco, me with every intention to buy the wicked cool wireless headphones ('cause I can use them to watch movies in the bedroom when you're sleeping honey!) and disaster. I can't find them! They must have moved them! We wonder around for 10 minutes before I find someone who works there. I ask. They don't have any more. Greyskull be damned. I was pissed. I still am pissed.
So instead, I bought useless stuff. Cool but useless stuff. Namely this:
And yes Colleen, I'll be lending it to you if you'd like.
