It's been a while and his new TV show is still a few weeks away (as is the film) but here's a little something to tide us over...

It's been a crazy few weeks and though nothing has gone badly, nothing has gone spectacularly well either. I'm in a bit of a funk this week that I hope disappears sooner rather than later. It may have something to do with the fact that the past few weeks have been less than stellar for film viewing and I'm feeling the drain. It's amazing how much not seeing great films affects my mood.
There were two major highlights this week. The first was a film I caught last night which I plan on writing about this weekend and the second was the emergence of a recent interview with Keanu Reeves from "Vogue Homme". It's a short but insigtful chat with the actor which only supports my continued love for the man. Someone was kind enough to transcribe the interview and you can read it here. To go with it, here's one of the photos from the article. I'll be posting a few more as the week progresses.

By this point, you already know that "Twilight" is coming to DVD on March 21st but along with the release of the Two Disc Special Edition there are also a number of Collector's Editions available through a number of retailers. As of this morning, I'm aware of two different editions.
Borders Exclusive Edition
The Borders Exclusive Edition includes the 2 Disc SE along with a bonus DVD which includes:
• Exclusive Twilight Cast Interviews with Kristen Stewart (Bella) and Robert Pattinson (Edward)
• Exclusive Twilight Cast Interviews with Cam Gigandet (James)
• Exclusive Twilight Cast Interviews with Edi Gathegi (Laurent) and Rachelle Lefevre (Victoria)
• Exclusive Red-Carpet Interviews from the Twilight Movie Premiere
• Exclusive Never-Before-Seen Red-Carpet Footage! Includes extra interview footage with Kellan Lutz (Emmett), Ashley Greene (Alice), rock band Paramore, and Nikki Reed (Rosalie)
• Exclusive Borders Book Club: Stephenie Meyer talks about the Twilight Saga
Exclusive Photocards
10 exclusive photocards are printed on a gorgeous pearlescent paper to give a dramatic sparkly effect—the perfect way to view your favorite vampires
That edition is available only through Borders at a cost of $29.99 which is only $5 dollars more than the list price for the Standard 2 Disc release.
You can PLACE YOUR ORDER HERE.
Amazon Ultimate Collector's Set
The Amazon Exclusive Ultimate Collector's Set only seems to be available in Blu-ray but it includes the 2 Disc SE in Blu-ray along with:
• Collector's Box
• Original Motion Picture Soundtrack
• Six Collector Cards
• Twilight Bookmark
• Exclusive Watch
• Limited Edition Charm Bracelet
• Certificate of Authenticity
That edition is available only through Amazon at a cost of $69.99 which is a little pricier.
You can PLACE YOUR ORDER HERE.
Since I don't have a Blu-ray player and I don't care much for jewelry, I skipped out on the Amazon offer for the Border's offer instead. Plus, $70US is a little hefty for my wallet.
Hot Topic Release
Hot Topic is releasing the 2 Disc special edition at the same cost of most retailers ($24.99) but as an added bonus, you get:
• Exclusive Edward movie cell
You can PLACE YOUR ORDER HERE.
Barnes & Noble Release
Barnes & Noble is releasing the 2 Disc special edition for $26.39 but as an added bonus, you get:
• Customizable Twilight Skin for your cell phone, PDA or MP3 player (individual code redeemable at Skinit.com)
You can PLACE YOUR ORDER HERE.
If you find any other Collector's Editions, please let me know. I'll provide updates as more become available.
NOTE: Apparently the Special Edition Blu-Ray disc will only be availabe on March 21st via Best Buy and Target (though neither site has the DVD listed for pre-sale) and then to all other retailers on May 5th. This seems like a bit of a moronic move but I'm sure they've got their reasons. Also note that they've added a new feature (to the Blu-Ray edition at least): "BD Live with "New Moon" teaser" - whatever that means.

So we already know about the release on March 21st (did you check out my totally kickin' counter? OK, it's only kinda cool. Actually, it's a tad cheesy but oh well) and we have another update, this time on what's going to be includingon the 2 Disc DVD.

Still no release date or specs on the DVD but Summit has released the cover art for the 2 disc special edition release of "Twilight".

Turns out that this is turning into a bit of a "Twilight" blog and apparently, I have all the answers. Well, I don't have all the answers - I'm just a fan yet, I've had a few people contact me about the DVD release of the film. I posted a few details earlier but in case you missed it...
I have no idea when the film will be released. In an interview, Catherine mentioned Spring of 2009 and there's been talk of a release between February and April though if I had to guess, I'm thinking later in the year considering the film is still doing so well in theatres.
As for the DVD itself, Hardwicke has talked about a number of deleted scenes which will appear on the DVD release including a scene from "Midnight Sun". You can check out all the details of that from an interview at MTV. Unfortunately, that interview isn't available to folks outside the US and I can't seem to find it on YouTube but if you know where it's at, please leave a link in the comments section. I found this but it appears to be only a portion of the interview.
If you're really keen, you can already Pre-Order the DVD from Amazon.ca.

Not too serious but just a tad. I've watched a whole lot of interviews but this is perhaps the best of the bunch. Robert talks to Dose.ca about the film, his role and how he approached the character. It really is a great interview:

Let me begin by saying that I'm thrilled they're not planning on holding this until the release of "New Moon".
Catherine Hardwicke talked to the folks at MTV and revealed a few tidbits about the DVD release including:
- "Giggle" (her word not mine) audio comentary with Stewart, Pattinson and Hardwicke
- Lots of deleted and extended scenes and
- Behind the scenes footage and interviews
There's a whole lot more which Hardwicke brings up in her discussion which you can check out over here.
Fans will run out and pick this up but mark my words: Summit will release a SE set in conjunction with Christmas 09 and "New Moon".

Yes, it's true. Even the cool and collected Keanu can blush when complimented. This video is a few years old but I stumbled on it while searching for videos from the promotional tour for "The Day the Earth Stood Still" which opens on Friday.
I'm dedicating this video to the fans that feared that Keanu had been dethroned. All I said was that he had competition - and that's still the case.

Sort of. "Harry Potter or Twilight?" The response is pretty funny:

I dont' make a point to avoid them but for the most part, I don't watch too many interviews with actors/directors before films come out but I was sent a link to an interview with Robert Pattinson (who plays Edward in Twilight) and I did watch/listen to it.
It's a very good interview and I'm really impressed with the insight Pattinson gives into the character and how he plays it. I'm still not sure, as the interviewer asks, if he doesn't completely look silly in the film (vampires always tend to look a bit silly) but I am impressed by the interview.
So yesterday I had that breakdown about my interview with Take Out directors Shih-Ching Tsou and Sean Baker. Mostly, I was really frustrated that I'd let the interview opportunity slip through my fingers and on top of that, I couldn't quite get a grasp of how or where I'd find the time to get something together for the film's release tomorrow. Because I couldn't concentrate on aything else (I was so nervous about it), I started writing a interview/review piece last night and in doing so, discovered that the audio wasn't too bad after all, it's just the first 8 minutes of so that are a nightmare. It's still not good enough to post but I think things turned out well.
Already on a roll, I stayed up and edited the podcast as well. All this means is that when I get home tonight, I can go straight to be. Thank god too - 4 hours sleep just isn't enough for 2 days!

It's not surprising that evangelist Billy Graham has converted 2.5 million people - he's a charming guy. I don't agree with many of his beliefs but he has an energy that is hard to dispute and when you're looking and open to suggestion, it's easy to buy into what he's selling.
Reading TED today, I stumbled on this YouTube video of directory and self-proclaimed atheist Woody Allen interviewing Graham in the 60's. It's an interesting and respectful conversation and rather unsurprisingly, good natured and pretty funny. Allen shells out the soft hits and Graham takes them with a smile and responds with charm. This guy is the best of salesmen.

Oh yes I am!!
What could be better than seeing, hearing and quickly meeting Syd Mead in person? A one-on-one.
Boing Boing's Joel Johnson had a chance to do just that and the conversation is *almost* as interesting as the talk Mead shared with the excited Vancouver crowd. ;)
I'm still jealous.
Thanks to the nice folks at Filmmaker Magazine for the heads up.
